Hello, Maggie

2 weeks ago I took the leap and adopted a puppy. I've missed having a studio companion since our old black dog died in May. Maggie May came to us via a kill shelter in Arkansas.

We don't know what happened before she came home with me, but we did know she was very reserved. The first few days she would not even look at me. When I reached out to pet her, she shied away. Today, she is an entirely different dog. She smiles, and her eyes and tail are up. I introduced her to the studio life, and she is settling in nicely. I am so glad I have a new companion to share my studio successes with.

Of course, my productivity has fallen off drastically, but I did load a few things into the bisque to candle last night. I got up at five this morning to to turn it up, and discovered I'd failed to reset the timer. Freshman mistake! I'm very glad I'm not into rocket science.... The larger pieces will be going into the ND anagama firing next weekend. The shells are for a friend's birthday gift.

The Future

I have sat on this post for nearly a year, waiting for an epiphany, but none has come. I have spent the past year and a half reflecting on my practice and asking some hard questions as life has change
